Press release by DFK International – A Thames Valley accountancy firm has joined worldwide professional association DFK International to extend its global reach.
Shaw Gibbs has become the first DFK International member based in Oxford, and in doing so is now part of one of the top ten accountancy associations in the world.
DFK international has more than 400 offices in over 90 countries, including 19 member firms in its DFK UK & Ireland group.
Shaw Gibbs is recognised as a leading accountancy and business advisory practice, with a track-record spanning more than 80 years. Its clients range from successful individuals to SMEs, charities and not-for-profit entities, LLPs, and subsidiaries of overseas companies in Oxfordshire and throughout the UK.
Peter O’Connell, Managing Director Shaw Gibbs, said joining DFK International is a natural step as the firm has seen an increasing number of international businesses approach them to provide support to their UK operations.
"We are proud to join one of the accountancy profession’s most respected independent global associations," he said.
"Becoming part of DFK International will help our clients as it provides the resources we need to advise firms looking to establish overseas offices.
"Being part of a recognised accountancy association will also encourage international businesses to come to us when they are looking to invest in the UK."
Shaw Gibbs went through a structured process involving a detailed review and inspection, followed by a vote by the existing UK and Ireland DFK members prior to being confirmed as DFK International members.
Bob Law, chair of DFK UK & Ireland, added: "We are really pleased to welcome Shaw Gibbs to DFK UK & Ireland and DFK International. "Inviting a firm in the Oxford area to become part of the association was one of our strategic priorities for this year, and to have attracted a well-respected and progressive firm in Shaw Gibbs is a fantastic move for both parties. "Shaw Gibbs is a full-service firm which is growing its international work through its client base, and becoming part of DFK will strengthen the firm’s international credentials even further."The firm will also provide our members with access to high-quality services in the Oxfordshire and Thames Valley area, which is a very attractive area for international businesses to establish a UK base."We’re delighted with the strength of our representatives across the UK and Ireland. Shaw Gibbs’ membership is a hugely important part of our strategic expansion plans, and we anticipate further strengthening our network with other high-quality firms joining the association in the year ahead." DFK UK & Ireland’s 19 member firms operate within major geographical centres in England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, The Channel Isles and also the Isle of Man.
