Press release by Moore Stephens – Moore Stephens Belgium will be bolstering its position in the Flemish accountancy sector by merging with the firms Engelen & Partners in Hasselt and Rediger and F.A.K.L. in Herent.

Peter Verschelden, CEO of Moore Stephens Belgium, and Bart Engelen, Managing Director of the accounting firm Engelen & Partners NV, have concluded an agreement on a far-reaching partnership that will see Engelen & Partners NV and its subsidiaries, Rediger F. BVBA and F.A.K.L. BVBA, become part of the Moore Stephens Belgium family as of 1 January 2017. The move will allow Moore Stephens Belgium to considerably extend its geographic spread across Flanders thanks to a major presence in the Hasselt, Aarschot and Leuven regions.

Engelen & Partners, founded by its Managing Director, Bart Engelen, is a leading accounting firm in the Hasselt region that relies on years of experience in the drafting of financial plans, drawing up articles of association and day-to-day bookkeeping for a range of companies, among many other fields of expertise. In recent years the firm has expanded through the acquisition of the firms Rediger F. and F.A.K.L., both based in the Aarschot-Leuven region. Today, with a team of over 35 staff (20 fulltime employees in Hasselt and 15 in Leuven), Engelen & Partners NV has a consolidated annual turnover of €4.3 million.

‘The partnership with Moore Stephens Belgium is a logical step in our further growth,’ says Bart Engelen. ‘The services we offer as well as our common vision of the future and the large degree of common ground we share in areas such as our mission and strategy come together to form a stable foundation that gives us great faith in this partnership. This allows us to guarantee continuity to our clients and offer an improved service as well as to dramatically extend those services. It’s a win-win situation for all parties.’

‘Moore Stephens Belgium represents growth,’ says Peter Verschelden, CEO of Moore Stephens Belgium in wholehearted agreement. ‘That means growth of and for our staff and of course for our shareholders by means of the expansion and the increased scale of our company. Through this partnership with Engelen & Partners, Moore Stephens is further enlarging its steady base in Flanders together with a reliable and professional partner, and visibility of the Moore Stephens name will now also be increased in Hasselt, Aarschot and Leuven. In terms of both our content and our culture there are multiple connections that make the partnership a very obvious one, and in Bart Engelen we have also found a highly suitable new associate who will enthusiastically help to pursue a sustainable and forward-looking policy in the Hasselt-Leuven-Aarschot region.’

The partnership means significant benefits for both the clients and the staff of the different firms. The current management and teams will continue to run their own offices and look after the interests of their clients, just as was always the case, but now they can also rely on even more knowledge and expertise from the Moore Stephens Belgium specialists whenever it is necessary or beneficial for their clients.
