Press release by Grant Thornton – Leading business and financial adviser Grant Thornton UK LLP has strengthened its restructuring, debt and pensions advisory offering with seven new partner and director appointments.

The four new partners include two external hires – Senthil Alagar, who has joined from Alvarez and Marsal in London and Sarah O'Toole who joins the firm's Manchester office from Alix Partners. Matt Richards joins the firm's London team as a director from KPMG.

Helen Dale and Amaechi Nsofor are both internal promotions to partner. Chris McLean has been promoted to director and now leads the firm's debt advisory team in London. Grant Thornton's regional debt advisory team is led by Philip Stephenson, a director based in the firm's Manchester office. Jamie MacKenzie has been made a director in the firm's pensions advisory team.

This investment follows two other external partner hires made by the firm in the last eighteen months – Eddie Williams from PwC in Birmingham and Martin Barron from Deloitte in Leeds.

Commenting on the appointments Shaun O'Callaghan, Head of Debt Advisory and Restructuring at Grant Thornton UK LLP said "Uncertainty in the business and financial markets is creating opportunities for some companies to grow, whilst some others are facing more difficult trading conditions. We are investing to support our corporate, banking and investor clients to help them successfully navigate whatever challenges they are facing."
