Press Release by Grant Thornton -Grant Thornton today announced the addition of internal audit providers Interna OÜ in Estonia, joining Grant Thornton Baltic OÜ. The merger strengthens the firm’s capability in offering internal audit services to both public and private sector clients and in conducting audits in the Baltics.
Three Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP) internal auditors will join the firm and offer a number of internal audit services including compliance audits, performance audits (including International Organisation for Standardisation, ISO), and management audits.
Mati Nõmmiste, CEO, Grant Thornton Baltic OÜ, said: “We sensed that there was demand from the market and among our clients for internal audit services. Training in this field is undoubtedly important, and Interna OÜ has been a successful organiser of these. In analysing our product portfolio, we found that Interna OÜ’s services were a very good match with our existing services and so we started pursuing the acquisition. We’re sure that all parties will stand to gain from this union. It’s a growing service sector. Together, we will work even better and we’ll be stronger.”
Siiri Antsmäe, former CEO of Interna OÜ and new head of Grant Thornton Baltic’s internal audit division, said that the change in ownership makes it possible to offer even more professional and encompassing internal audit services to clients.
