Grant Thornton and BDO firms on the Isle of Man have agreed to merge.

The merged firm will retain the Grant Thornton name, and employ 30 people.

As part of the merger former BDO employees will be relocated to Grant Thornton’s current office in Douglas, which has been expanded to account for the merger.

All staff will be retained, and the merger will double Grant Thornton’s portfolio of clients on the island.

Grant Thornton director Dennis McGergan noted "It was an important consideration during our discussions that all staff members were retained, especially in terms of ensuring a seamless transition for all existing clients."
