PKF International Africa regional director Theo Vermaak has been elected as chair of the Forum of Firms (FoF), effective January 2015.

Established in 2002 the FoF is an association of international networks of accounting firms that perform transnational audits. The FoF’s objective is to promote consistent and high quality standards of financial reporting and auditing practices. It currently counts 26 members.

Vermaak will take over RSM global leader for quality and risk Bob Doher who has chaired the FoF since 2010. In September, Doher was appointed to serve as a member of the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB).
