EY has appointed former eBay executive Jeff Wong to the position of chief innovation officer and leader of the newly established global innovation team.

EY said the new team’s aim was to provide the visibility needed to forecast the technologies and trends on the horizon.

Wong joins EY from eBay, where he led the business incubation group. He has also worked for Boston Consulting Group, JAFCO America Ventures and J.P. Morgan Partners.

EY global managing partner – client service Carmine Di Sibio said: "EY is making a bold statement with Jeff’s appointment. He brings greater connectivity and new ways of thinking to the organisation, and will help drive greater results to EY and our clients. We have a long history of investing in innovation and won’t stand still. Jeff’s vision for innovation will be even more front and center as we continue to identify the latest strategies and solutions."
