Deloitte and BDO have, days apart, announced their intention to tie-in with tech giants Apple and Microsoft in order to boost their service offering.
Deloitte has entered a partnership with Apple, in order to assist clients make the most of the iOS platform via iPhone and iPad. As result of the partnership, Deloitte is setting up a so called Apple practice, which will employ 5,000 strategic advisors across its network in Asia-Pacific, EMEA and Americas.
Deloitte global chief executive Punit Renjen said: “Our dedicated Apple practice will give global businesses the expertise and resources they need to empower their mobile workforce to take advantage of the powerful ecosystem iOS, iPhone, and iPad offer, and help them achieve their ambitions, while driving efficiency and productivity.”
BDO to boost audit and client offering with Microsoft deal Deloitte’s announcement comes days after BDO announced it is to partner with Microsoft, in order to “accelerate the digital transformation of their clients’ businesses”.
One of the key benefits for BDO is the enhancement of their audit and analytics capabilities. The global network said its audit toolkit and bespoke Audit Process Tool (APT) will “now be capable of streamlining and focusing the audit process in even more ways for BDO professionals and their clients”.
BDO global chief executive Martin van Roekel said: “Our strategic alliance with Microsoft will create new and exciting opportunities for BDO member firms to expand upon the in-depth knowledge they have of their clients and provide them with powerful insights, in both a financial and operational capacity.”
