Punit Renjen has been appointed Deloitte Global new CEO, effective 1 June 2015. He is Deloitte US chairman of the board.

Raised in India, Renjen made most of his professional career in the USA, 28 years of which were spent at Deloitte. Prior to his role as US chairman, he served as chairman and CEO of Deloitte US consulting practice.

He will take over from Barry Salzberg who has been in the role since 2011. Salzberg will retire from Deloitte Global at the end of the network’s fiscal year, 31 May 2015, and will work full time as a professor of professional practice at Columbia Business School while serving on public company boards.

Earlier this month Deloitte US announced the appointment of Cathy Engelbert as its new CEO and chairman, effective 11 March 2015.
