Abacus Worldwide has appointed James Mendelssohn to its advisory board, for the 2018/19 year.

As well as his strategic development role on the advisory board, Mendelssohn will assist with enhancing membership recruitment efforts with specific focus on the EMEA region.

Mendelssohn was chief executive of MSI Global Alliance for over a decade, before becoming transitioning to become chairman of the association in 2012, a position he held for five years, according to his LinkedIn.

Since 2012, he has also established Firm Management Associates, a consultancy focusing on providing management advice to international membership organisations, and the firms that are members of such groups.

Commenting on Mendelssohn’s appointment, Abacus Worldwide’s president and CEO Julio Gabay said: “James will be a great addition to the Abacus advisory board. He brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience from his previous association management roles.”
