Chartered accountancy body ICAEW is hosting a virtual climate summit next month, which this year includes an in-person discussion with singer-turned-water campaigner Feargal Sharkey.

Sharkey will discuss his career, what led him to take on the UK’s water companies and regulators to clean up our polluted waterways, and what individuals and businesses can do to stop and reverse this damage.

Other speakers during the summit will include representatives from TRACE, A4S, the British Business Bank, Business for Nature, and broadcaster Monty Halls.

Speakers will discuss the issues facing business leaders, NGOs, and financial institutions to enable them to drive meaningful change on climate and biodiversity issues.

The free events are organised by ICAEW’s Sustainability and Climate Change Community, and will be spread over five days, from Monday 13 November to Friday 16 November, with two hour-long sessions per day.

ICAEW director of sustainability, Richard Spencer, said: “Climate is the most important business issue of our time, and our summit will offer attendees the opportunity to hear from some of the leading thinkers in this space, offering their insights into how to tackle the issues that businesses of all sizes currently face.
