EY’s acquisition of IZAZ becomes effective

EY’s acquisition in South Africa of IZAZ, a technology business solutions provider, has become effective.

The acquisition of the firm, announced in late July, had been approved by South Africa’s Competition Commission.

EY said the move builds on "the growth and development of its advisory and consulting capabilities". A year ago EY acquired 8th Man Consulting, an Oracle’s advisory business, also in South Africa.

IZAZI has 200 employees across offices in South Africa, Australia, Canada and New Zealand, according to EY.

Nexia International has added First Names (GB) to its network.

First Names (GB) is part of First Names Group, which has a presence in a number of European countries, the US, British Virgin Islands, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan.

First Names (GB) is "a one-stop-shop for compliance and support services for multinational companies", Nexia International said.

Nexia International in the UK ranked seventh among accounting networks, with revenues close to £300m ($460m), in the latest UK survey of International Accounting Bulletin for fiscal year 2014.

DFK International adds City member firms

Carter Backer Winter and Wilson Wright have joined DFK International and will serve as London representatives of the association.

The two accountancy firms will operate under the umbrella of DFK UK & Ireland, which has 18 member firms in the region.

DFK International in the UK ranked fourth among accounting associations, with revenues close to £70m ($107m) in the latest UK survey of International Accounting Bulletin for fiscal year 2014.
