Belgian firm Moore Stephens
Verschelden-Walkiers & Co has merged with Van Havermaet
Groenweghe to form the sixth largest firm in the country.

Van Havermaet Groenweghe will add 170 staff to
Moore Stephens Belgium, which grows to 400 staff.

The new firm plans to specialise in corporate
finance and family office, while expecting most growth from the HR
services group.

“Thanks to this merger, we will now have
key-centres in Antwerp, Hasselt, Brussels, Ghent and Shanghai, in
addition to having about 10 small boutique firms spread across
Belgium. In a next phase we will also look to expand further in
Brussels and Wallonia,” the new group chairman Jan Maurissen
said.

Maurissen will lead the integration of the
firms with new managing partner Frans Verschelden.

The merger comes weeks after Moore Stephens
Verschelden merged with Walkiers & Co.
