
Sage, a provider of accounting software, has announced significant progress in its collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) that is focused on AI innovation in accounting and compliance.
As an AWS partner, Sage is leveraging AWS’s AI services, including Amazon Bedrock and AI chips such as AWS Trainium and AWS Inferentia, to develop new AI solutions tailored to the accounting and compliance needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs.)
The company said that the partnership enabled it to accelerate the development, testing, and deployment of AI models.
These advancements allow SMEs to access Sage’s tools more quickly, gain timely financial insights, and manage their finances with greater precision.
Over the past year, the company has developed and deployed purpose-built large language models and small language models for accounting and compliance.
The company added that these models improve the reliability and efficiency of its AI-powered financial solutions, supporting SMBs in operating with increased confidence.

By GlobalDataThe collaboration has also paved the way for enhanced capabilities in Sage Copilot, an AI-powered assistant embedded within Sage Accounting, Sage for Accountants, Sage 50, and Sage Intacct, currently available in the UK, US, France, Spain, and Germany.
Key developments include the Accounting Filtering Model, which ensures AI responses remain relevant to financial and compliance queries, preventing inaccuracies.
Additionally, Sage Copilot has been enhanced to provide real-time insights, automate workflows, and reduce manual financial tasks.
New endpoint detection models improve the AI’s ability to interpret user intent and retrieve relevant financial data, streamlining decision-making, the company added.

In June 2024, Sage partnered with UK accountancy firm Xeinadin positioning it as the preferred transformation partner for Xeinadin.
