The Government of Hong Kong has appointed Florence Wong Wai-mei as the executive director to the board of Hong Kong’s Financial Reporting Council (FRC).

Wong Wai-mei joins for a three-year term from 6 December 2019 to 5 December 2022. While the FRC is still working to recruit a CEO, she will also serve as acting CEO.

Wong Wai-mei joined the FRC in June 2009 and worked as senior director of investigation before taking up her current role as the head of oversight, policy and governance on 1 October 2019.

Commenting on Wong Wai-mei's appointment, FRC chairman Kelvin Wong said: “Florence has accumulated a wealth of experience and expertise in the FRC for over 10 years. The board and I look forward to working closely with her in her new role at the Board.”
