He will take responsibility for restructuring and insolvency assignments across the north of England, advising companies and individuals in a range of stressed and distressed scenarios.
Herberts said: “Being part of bk plus means I can draw upon expertise across a wide range of specialisms including banking, tax and corporate finance.
“That kind of joined-up support makes a real difference to the quality of advice and solutions we can give to clients.”
Herberts is a licensed insolvency practitioner with more than 15 years’ experience, gained at both national companies and smaller boutique practices.
bk plus said the appointment will enhance its ability to assist both businesses and individuals in a broad mix of challenging circumstances.
The company said its restructuring and insolvency offering is delivered alongside its tax, audit and corporate finance teams.
bk plus partner and Restructuring head David Griffiths said: “Peter brings exactly the kind of experience we were looking for.
“His background across both larger national firms and smaller boutique practices means he understands how these situations play out in very different environments, and that makes him a stronger adviser.
“The restructuring and insolvency space has been busy, and demand for clear, practical guidance, whether a business is facing real difficulty or simply exploring its options at an early stage, shows no sign of easing.
“Peter’s appointment strengthens our ability to respond to that.”
Last month, bk plus expanded its reach by bringing in Kent-based Aggarwal & Co Chartered Accountants, incorporating Foreman Waller & Edwards & Co into the group.
