The boutique operation provides audit, accounting, tax and advisory services to a mix of locally and internationally owned businesses, not-for-profit entities and trust structures.

In a statement, Abacus said that Forbes, led by Cynthia Forbes, focuses on “direct client relationships” to offer tailored services.

It is particularly recognised for its audit expertise and extensive experience working with not-for-profit organisations across New Zealand, the company added.

Abacus Worldwide COO Jessica L. Levin said: “Adding Forbes as our first member firm in New Zealand is an important step for our association, particularly given the country’s strong reliance on international trade and cross-border business relationships.

“With established member firms in Australia, China and the US, this creates stronger connectivity across markets that are deeply linked economically and commercially.

“Their international experience, combined with a highly personal approach to client service, makes them a valuable addition to our membership.”

Abacus Worldwide is a global association that includes independent accounting, consulting and legal companies.

Last month, Abacus Worldwide added Tanzanian practice Enson Africa to its global network.

Enson Africa, headquartered in Dar es Salaam, advises small, medium and large enterprises operating locally and abroad.

Its services cover accounting and bookkeeping, audit and assurance, financial and tax advisory, forensic and fraud investigations, inventory checks, payroll and secretarial support.
