Abacus Worldwide, a global alliance comprising independent accounting, consulting and legal services companies, has announced the addition of MPVR Offshore to its network.
MPVR operates from bases in the UK and South Africa, delivering outsourced audit and accounting services through teams based in South Africa.

The company’s client base is largely made up of UK-based accounting practices, to which it supplies flexible access to qualified audit and accounting personnel familiar with both International Financial Reporting Standards and UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice standards.
The alignment of time zones between South Africa and the UK, alongside shared use of the English language, is said to facilitate closer working relationships with UK-based teams.
Abacus Worldwide chief operating officer Jessica L Levin said: “MPVR brings a particularly relevant capability to the Abacus association through its UK–South Africa model for delivering audit and accounting resources.
“For our members in the UK and across Europe, and potentially for firms serving clients in other markets, access to skilled South African professionals with strong alignment to UK accounting practices, language and working hours can provide a practical alternative to more distant outsourcing models.”
Last month, Abacus Worldwide expanded its network with the addition of Shanghai-based accounting practice WSP Biz Advisory (WSP).
WSP offers auditing, taxation and advisory services to enterprises operating both within China and internationally.
Among its new members this year, Abacus Worldwide has also welcomed Horady, a Bolivian accounting practice, and Forbes Chartered Accountants in New Zealand.
