Scottish company EQ Chartered Accountants, part of the Sumer Group, has completed a merger with fellow practice Innes & Partners.
Innes & Partners, which serves clients in Inverness and Livingston, delivers professional services to private individuals, business owners, and non-profit entities such as charities, social enterprises and charitable trusts.

In a statement, EQ said the merger marks an “important step” in its growth as it expands its presence into the north of Scotland.
Innes & Partners’ 20-person team joins Sumer Group’s wider UK network, which has more than 70 offices and in excess of 3,000 personnel.
The transaction also increases EQ’s workforce by nearly 7%, lifting staff numbers from 290 to 310.

Innes will remain in his post as a partner within the Inverness team.
EQ confirmed that it will maintain its sites in Inverness and Livingston. Meanwhile, Innes & Partners clients will gain access to Sumer Group’s national network, including audit, tax, advisory and business support capabilities.
