The practice focuses on property and sales tax consulting alongside accounting, tax and business advisory work for privately owned enterprises, family offices and high-net-worth clients.

Under the deal, the Crowl Cameron team will be integrated with CRI’s existing Conroe office.

They will continue to work from their present premises, which will operate under the CRI name.

Clients are expected to keep working with their existing advisers, while gaining access to CRI’s wider technical resources, sector-focused teams and national platform.

That includes ten specialist portfolio businesses covering areas such as investment banking and retirement plan administration.

Crowl, Cameron & Associates managing partner Michael Cameron said: “After four decades of serving the Montgomery County community, joining CRI was the right strategic decision for our clients, team and future.

“We chose to partner with CRI because they share our commitment to personalised service and local relationships.

“This merger allows us to offer more capabilities while maintaining the hands-on approach our clients expect from us.”

The transaction brings 12 additional staff into CRI’s existing operation in Conroe.

It is the company’s tenth deal since it received external investment from Centerbridge Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners in late 2024.

Its recent additions include businesses in Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina and Texas. The company now has offices in 17 cities across Texas.

CRI chairman Bill Carr said: “The Conroe area and Montgomery County represent strategic growth markets with diverse business communities and strong economies.

“Crowl Cameron’s 45-plus-year legacy and specialised expertise align with our values. This partnership strengthens our ability to serve clients across one of Texas’ fastest-growing regions.”
