Moore Kingston Smith, a UK-based advisory, tax and audit practice, has expanded its VAT practice with the appointment of Mark Treacher as partner.
Treacher will advise a range of organisations including charities, construction companies and corporates.

A key part of his brief is to further develop Moore Kingston Smith’s VAT capabilities, the company said in a statement.
His work will centre on helping organisations manage VAT as a controllable cost, clarify their VAT treatment and pinpoint opportunities either to avoid VAT becoming irrecoverable or to enhance recovery.
Treacher joins Moore Kingston Smith from a ‘Big Four’ company where he spent almost 25 years in VAT advisory positions.
Moore Kingston Smith managing partner Matt Meadows said: “We are really pleased to welcome Mark to the team.

During his career, Treacher worked with clients across banking, real estate, private equity and transactions, focusing on complex VAT matters linked to both deals and ongoing operations.
Treacher said: “After almost 25 years with my previous firm, my next move had to be for the right opportunity, and I see real potential here at Moore Kingston Smith. Throughout the recruitment process, there has been a sense of excitement about where the firm is headed.

Last month, Moore Kingston Smith confirmed its merger with Moore South, consolidating both companies within the Moore UK network.
