Business travel and expense platform Navan has introduced AI-driven Audit Engine, designed to systematically examine transactions for potential risk, fraud and policy breaches.
According to the company, the enterprise-focused transaction screening system can provide more than 45 advanced risk and compliance audit checks. The tool is expected to protect against high-stakes risks such as sanctioned individuals and politically exposed persons.

Experience unmatched clarity with a single platform that combines unique data, AI, and human expertise.
Audit Engine is available for all Navan customers, while a new Anti-Corruption and Bribery capability, is currently in beta phase.
Navan Payments and Expense chief product officer Yuval Refua said: “Finance teams typically rely on multiple systems or headcount to identify risk, fraud, and policy violations.
“But protecting the business is fundamentally a data and volume problem — and Navan’s AI is uniquely positioned to solve that.
“Our Audit Engine uses multiple LLMs to test every transaction against customisable audit checks.”
Navan said that the Audit Engine leverages “years of travel and expense intelligence”.
The system has flagged about two million transactions this year. These include nearly 30,000 cases of high tipping and hundreds of AI-generated fake receipts that, according to the company, are typically overlooked by conventional providers.
Other types of alerts raised by the tool include spending on weekends, mismatches between receipt totals and submitted amounts, and restricted categories such as alcohol and tobacco.
