Accountancy network UHY has added a new partner and several team members from MMK CPA, strengthening its Towson office in Maryland, US.

Shelley Keirn has come on board as a managing director within UHY Towson Tax Department, Debbie Donovan as a manager, and Thomas Keirn in the role of a staff accountant.

Prior to founding MMK CPA, Keirn was a shareholder at Stoy, Malone & Company.

She moved to UHY upon the merger with MMK CPA.

Keirn has expertise in tax planning and business advisory services, with focus on small and medium-sized businesses.

She also possesses expertise in handling estates and trusts, as well as working alongside professional services and non-profit organisations.

UHY Mid-Atlantic Regional managing partner Harold Mohn said: “The addition of this talented team aligns perfectly with UHY’s growth strategy in the Mid-Atlantic region.

“Shelley, Debbie, and Thomas bring a wealth of expertise that will enhance our client service capabilities and deepen our relationships in the community.”

This expansion enhances UHY’s foothold in Maryland and bolsters its commitment to offer tax, accounting, and advisory services to both businesses and individuals throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, the company said.

It is said to bolster the firm’s capability to deliver “expert financial guidance” to businesses in Towson, Baltimore, and beyond.

UHY’s Towson managing partner John Kincaid said: “We are excited to welcome Shelley, Debbie, and Thomas to UHY’s Towson office. “Their deep expertise, particularly in tax services, strengthens our ability to serve our clients with an even greater level of insight and strategic guidance.”
