Accountex, an exhibition and conference for accounting and finance professionals, is returning to ExCeL London on the 11-12 May 2022. The event attracts over 9,000 attendees across the two days as they look to meet 200+ global brands and cutting-edge start-ups. Plus, there are over 180 informative sessions about the tools, technology and ideas shaping the future of accounting in the CPD accredited education programme.

As both the 2020 and 2021 shows had to be postponed due to the pandemic, the accounting community are putting their full support behind this year’s event.

Martin Bissett, Director, Wisdom in Practice comments, “Since its inception in 2012, Accountex has become a who’s who of the accounting profession and its surrounding industries. It is said that 2 days of Accountex is the equivalent of 6 months of networking any other way and my experience bears that out. I’m looking forward to being involved once again.”

Over the two days attendees will have the opportunity to meet the teams from suppliers including Sage, TaxCalc, IRIS, Intuit QuickBooks, Dext, Thomson Reuters, Silverfin and Xero who will be exhibiting alongside newer companies driving the accounting and finance world forward. It provides a great opportunity to see what new software and services are on the market and get bespoke demonstrations of how they can be utilised. This year you can expect to see everything from business valuation training to private crypto tax software and a chat app for accountants and their clients.

Notable industry names will be hosting CPD accredited keynotes, seminars, panels and workshops on a range of topics including making tax digital and cyber-security. With the landscape of accounting always evolving, there will be a big emphasis on fintech this year and what this means for the future of the industry. Another key focus will be on bookkeepers and small businesses, and the benefits of supporting them and their growth.

Attendees can also look forward to hearing directly from the HMRC on updates and changes to the making tax digital deadline and how you can prepare for the big move online.

The HMRC’s Richard Fowler will be sharing what’s next for Making Tax Digital and what you need to know for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax on both Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 May. The HMRC will also be sharing their updates on the new penalty process.

The ‘soft skills’ are also not forgotten with a new theatre focussing on ‘People, Talent and Culture’. The programme will feature talks on everything from mental health to work patterns to diversity, addressing important issues that affect every one of us.

The full programme can be viewed online at www.accountex.co.uk/london/seminar-timetable.

Tickets for Accountex are entirely free and all attendees receive 8 CPD hours.

Long-time show supporter, Mazuma’s Lucy Cohen adds, “Going to Accountex is one of the highlights of the year. A chance to catch up with peers, vendors and see some incredible speakers. After a difficult couple of years, it’s all the more special to have the opportunity to network with fellow professionals, share best practice and industry intel – oh, and maybe a little party or two!  I can’t wait.”
