PwC has appointed Matt Wood as the new US and Global Commercial Technology & Innovation Officer to advance its global technology strategy.

Wood, who previously held a key position at Amazon Web Services, will also join PwC’s Global Leadership Team, bringing extensive experience in cloud innovation and data-driven technologies.

The appointment comes as PwC continues to focus on delivering client-centric solutions and enhancing its end-to-end capabilities.

Matt Wood said: “I am excited to join PwC to lead its technology and innovation strategy. Throughout my career, I’ve seen the transformative impact of AI, data, and cloud technologies on industries ranging from finance to healthcare.

Wood has 15-year experience across various industries. At AWS, he spearheaded cloud innovation and developed new areas of innovation using data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.

The appointment comes a day after PwC reported a global revenue of $55.4bn for the 12 months ending 30 June 2024, compared to the previous fiscal year despite mixed economic conditions worldwide.

This revenue represents a 3.7% increase in local currency and a 4.3% increase in US dollars compared to the previous fiscal year.

Throughout FY24, PwC invested $3.6bn across its network, following a $3.7bn investment in FY23.
