Johnson, who has been at the Hong Kong firm since 1989, has been managing the firm’s non-assurance practice prior to his appointment.
Of his appointment, Kong said he was "honoured" and would dedicate himself to "further strengthening" the company’s position in the accounting profession.
BDO Hong Kong chairman Alert Au said that Kong’s "extensive" professional knowledge and experience would move BDO forward.
