Baker Tilly UK has appointed David Gwilliam as chief operating officer.

In his new position, Gwilliam will head the firm international services proposition within the RSM International network.
Earlier this year Baker TillyUK opted to join the RSM International network, following its purchase of troubled RSM Tenon in a pre-pack deal in 2013.

Gwilliam has been a partner at Baker Tilly UK for 17 years and for the last four years was the regional managing partner for the London region.

Following Baker Tilly UK’s admission to RSM International network in April, Gwilliam was appointed to the network’s European regional advisory council and the European leadership team.

Baker Tilly UK national managing partner Laurence Longe said: "I am delighted that David has agreed to take on this role at an important time in the firm’s development, as we aim to realise the full benefits of our merger with RSM Tenon, and take maximum advantage of our new relationships with RSM International member firms worldwide."
