The move is part of a global alliance that will initially focus on tax clients and private equity (PE) firms.

In a statement, KPMG said that embedding Claude into Digital Gateway will enable clients to build agentic workflows directly within KPMG’s AI-enabled environment.
In the US, KPMG will fold Claude into its PE-focused products and jointly develop new Claude-based tools for portfolio companies.
KPMG International global chairman and CEO Bill Thomas said: “At KPMG, we are innovating and redefining how work gets done.
“This global alliance with Anthropic reflects our shared commitment to responsible AI, prioritising security, trust and governance as KPMG firms scale these capabilities to our clients and people around the world.”
Digital Gateway, built on Microsoft Azure, consolidates KPMG tax content, proprietary tools and client data in one platform.
With Claude embedded, clients and professionals can use AI capabilities inside the platform in real time.
The move will also provide KPMG’s 276,000 employees with access to the Claude suite, extending its use beyond existing deployments in US Advisory, AI and Data Labs and enterprise support teams over the two years.
The companies also plan to embed cybersecurity, risk and AI assurance into the design and operation of AI tools, guided by KPMG’s Trusted AI framework.
Anthropic co-founder and president Daniela Amodei said: “KPMG works in industries where accuracy, accountability and trust aren’t optional, and they are applying the same standard to AI.
“They are rolling Claude out to 276,000 people across the business and using it for client work in tax and private equity.
“They are also bringing it into cybersecurity, where it helps find and fix vulnerabilities. That is what a firm-wide commitment to AI looks like, and we are proud to be the partner they chose.”
Under the strategic alliance, KPMG and Anthropic will also work with shared clients to revamp business functions and co-create AI-enabled product offerings.
Last month, KPMG Canada boosted its agentic AI investment, adding new innovation labs, executive training, a digital twin platform and applied research projects.
