KPMG in Canada has acquired the assets and technologies of LlamaZOO Interactive, strengthening its digital twin offerings.
The acquisition equips organisations with AI-enabled spatial business intelligence systems and digital mapping tools designed to support decision-making.
Financial terms of the acquisition have not been revealed.
LlamaZOO, with more than ten years of expertise in spatial business intelligence (SBI), provides a proprietary technology platform and software products.
These products enable organisations to make informed decisions quickly by offering contextual experiences with complex data sets in 2D and 3D digital twins.
Digital twins mirror physical objects, allowing companies to leverage real-time data from multiple sources. Through machine learning and AI, the technology simulates real-world scenarios, improving operational efficiency and productivity via an intuitive interface.

By GlobalDataMatt Grant, director of digital twins and spatial computing at KPMG in Canada, will lead the firm’s enhanced Digital Twin Centre of Excellence (CoE).
The centre will focus on developing and deploying digital twin and spatial business intelligence systems for clients across Canada, particularly in industries critical to the country’s productivity, energy, infrastructure, and trade sectors, with a global outlook, the company said.
LlamaZOO’s team of seven, including co-founders Charles Lavigne and Kevin Oke, has joined KPMG’s Ignition hub for innovation and advanced technologies, operating from KPMG’s Victoria office.
Grant said: “The addition of LlamaZOO’s technology and expertise allows KPMG to combine its artificial intelligence discipline with real-time 2D and 3D digital twin technologies. This positions KPMG to support Canadian and global organisations with immersive tools that enable intelligent decision-making, scenario planning and analysis.
“Amid ongoing economic uncertainty and global trade disruptions, scenario planning is more critical than ever for Canadian organisations. Digital twin technology can help create strategies for all types of scenarios by using data to assess various outcomes and support better, faster and more informed decisions, which ultimately leads to higher productivity and lower costs,” he added.
KPMG in Canada will also showcase LlamaZOO’s spatial business intelligence technology at the upcoming Web Summit Vancouver from May 27-30 at Booth E147.
