Godfrey Wilson offers accountancy and related services to charities and social enterprises. The company was set up 20 years ago.
Godfrey Wilson founding partner Rob Wilson said: “We have always maintained a vision to provide expert and specialised services to charities and commercial clients in an accessible way.
“This was underpinned by strong ethical and environmental values, and a commitment to champion charities at every opportunity. Joining Gravita allows us to scale that vision and offer our clients a more sophisticated service.
“This partnership adds vital breadth to our offering, introducing specialist VAT and tax services alongside our core audit and accountancy expertise.”
Gravita said it is taking on the Godfrey Wilson team along with a client base of more than 600 charities and organisations.
The move is expected to deepen Gravita’s reach in the South West and expand its capabilities in the not-for-profit field.
Following the deal, Gravita’s Bristol office will comprise more than 75 professionals, working alongside the company’s existing specialist charities team.
Gravita CEO Lisa Mayhew said: “I am delighted to welcome our new colleagues to Gravita as we continue on our mission to become a Top 25 national accountancy and advisory firm.
“Growth for us is about finding partners who share our culture and values. In Godfrey Wilson, we have found a team that is both technically brilliant and deeply embedded in the South West community.
“By welcoming all of their talented specialists into our firm, we further strengthen our presence in Bristol and ensure that the region’s not-for-profit and commercial clients benefit from local expertise backed by our people-first, AI-enabled approach to accountancy.”
In April this year, Gravita relocated its Essex team to new premises in Brentwood as part of an ongoing overhaul of its UK office network.
