Grant Thornton Advisors is expanding its multinational platform to include Grant Thornton New Zealand, marking a significant step in the firm’s Asia Pacific growth.

The Grant Thornton multinational platform expansion now covers 20 time zones, broadening the group’s reach and service capability for clients with global operations.

The addition of Grant Thornton New Zealand brings more than $40m in annual revenue and more than 300 professionals to the platform.

The New Zealand team has expertise in audit, tax, and advisory services, as well as is claimed to have strong market presence in the region.

Grant Thornton Advisors launched its multinational platform earlier this year, backed by an investor group led by New Mountain Capital.

The platform is integrating over a dozen firms from the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East, into a unified advisory and tax practice, supported by independent audit practices.

Current members of the platform include Grant Thornton firms in the US, Ireland, France and The United Arab Emirates, alongside the Netherlands, the Channel Islands, and the Cayman Islands.

Recently announced transactions with firms in Spain, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Belgium, and Luxembourg are expected to close in the coming weeks.

The platform has also added Auxis, which specialises in outsourcing and business modernisation, and Stax, a commercial due diligence and value creation specialist.

The transaction for Grant Thornton New Zealand to join the platform is expected to close before the end of 2025.

 The expanded multinational platform will remain part of the Grant Thornton International Limited network, which includes member firms in more than 150 markets globally.
