During the transition period, he will work alongside current CIO Jeff Layman, who will retire in May 2027.

Insley will help oversee investment strategy and portfolio management for the practice, which had more than $13bn in assets under management and advisement as of 31 August 2026.

According to a statement, Insley has more than 25 years of experience in investment leadership, covering research, asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk management and implementation.

Before joining Forvis Mazars, Insley was head of portfolio management at AlTi Tiedemann Global and CIO of its US predecessor, Tiedemann Advisors.

Insley said: “I am excited to join Forvis Mazars because of its distinctive approach to serving clients.

“The firm brings together investment management, wealth planning, family office services, and tax advice in a way that helps ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families reduce complexity and pursue their long-term goals with confidence.

“I look forward to building on the strong foundation that Jeff Layman and the team have established and partnering with the firm’s outstanding leadership and professionals to continue enhancing the client experience and growing our practice.”

Forvis Mazars Wealth Advisors is a registered investment adviser and wholly owned subsidiary of Forvis Mazars.

The practice sits within Forvis Mazars Private Client, which brings together wealth management, tax planning, investment strategy and family office consultancy.

Forvis Mazars CEO Tom Watson said: “Kent brings deep specialisation, sound judgment, and a clear understanding of clients’ increasingly complex needs.

“As we look ahead to the next chapter of our Wealth Advisory practice, we’re grateful for Jeff’s years of leadership and the strong foundation he has built.

“Kent is well positioned to build on that legacy and strengthen how we connect investment strategy with the broader advice and resources our clients need to protect their wealth, pursue their goals, and prepare for what’s next.”
