He rejoins the practice after serving as a director at Altrincham-based TACS.
Commenting on the appointment, Reynolds said: “Over the past 15 years, my focus has been on advising owner-managed businesses, building relationships and helping them navigate the tax challenges they face as they grow and evolve.
“It’s great to be back at Hurst. In some ways, it feels as though I’ve never been away. The practice has grown significantly and moved into excellent new office space, but there are many familiar faces and clients.
“Meeting with Liz and the other partners during the interview process made it clear that, even though the firm has expanded considerably over the last 11 years, it has maintained its strong culture and focus on its people.”
Reynolds professional focus centres on succession planning, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax.
Hurst tax team head Liz Gallagher said: “David is highly experienced, with extensive knowledge across a wide range of taxes, specialising in advising owner-managed and family businesses.
“As our client base continues to grow and their tax affairs become increasingly complex, David’s experience will be invaluable in strengthening our advisory team.
“His appointment will help ensure we continue to provide the high-quality, commercially focused advice our clients need.
“David worked with us several years ago, so it is particularly pleasing to welcome him back. He knows the firm and our approach to looking after clients, and I am confident he will make a significant contribution to the team.”
