UK-based accountancy and business advisory group Azets is set to take on BDO’s Medical Services team along with its client portfolio, in a move that expands its specialist Healthcare practice.
The move is expected to support its aim of becoming “the UK’s number one provider of accounting and advisory services to the healthcare sector”, Azets said in a statement.

The deal will transfer a range of healthcare clients to Azets, including general practitioner (GP) practices and primary care networks (PCNs).
Under the deal, a group of 16 specialist healthcare professionals will also migrate to Azets.
The team is led by partner Sarah Lock, alongside directors Juliette Maguire and Louise Barter.
Upon completion of the deal, Azets will work with more than 600 GP practices, 3,500 GP partners and locums, and 100 PCNs.
The incoming team will join colleagues in Azets’ Ipswich and Birmingham offices, adding specialist capacity in both locations.
The transaction follows Azets’ acquisition of Ensors last year and represents further investment in the East of England.
Azets UK&I CEO Peter Gallanagh said: “This is an important strategic step for Azets and further reinforces our ambition to become the UK’s number one provider of specialist accounting and advisory services to the healthcare sector.
“We are delighted to welcome Sarah, Juliette, Louise and the wider team to Azets.
“They bring deep sector expertise, strong client relationships and an outstanding reputation for supporting healthcare professionals. We look forward to the opportunities we can create together.”
Azets recently picked Dom Caunt to expand its North East corporate finance team.
