Yagoh said: “I bring diverse experience across large and middle market businesses as well as family owned businesses. I have worked with businesses in a wide range of sectors including manufacturing, automotive, consultancies and service providers.

“What resonated with me when I spoke to Azets was their focus on SMEs [small and medium-sized enterprises] and the local and personalised services they provide to their clients across their many offices in the UK and internationally.

“Azets also has a global reach and an international presence as part of the Allinial Global Network of firms, which provides the breadth needed to serve our clients with international operations.”

After graduating in Cameroon, Yagoh began her career with Deloitte and spent nearly a decade with the company, working in Africa, North America and the UK.

Subsequently, she joined EY in Birmingham, where she spent close to nine years and progressed to the role of audit director.

She later moved to Forvis Mazars in the UK, spending two years working with privately owned and private equity-backed companies before making the move to Azets.

Commenting on the appointment, Azets’ Birmingham office managing partner Ben Sheldon said: “We are building a fast-growth office in Birmingham, which works alongside our other offices across the Midlands.

“Appointing Edith highlights our ambitions and she brings decades of valuable experience.”

Earlier this month, Azets expanded its debt advisory service in the UK by appointing Matt Garside as director for Scotland and Lyle Ammon as director for the South region.
