
Andersen, a US-based provider of tax, valuation and related consulting services, has appointed Randolph Smith and Douglas Wood as managing directors in its Commercial practice.
Smith and Wood will help the company expand its operations in the Carolinas and support service delivery in the region.
Smith brings more than 35 years of tax advisory experience to Andersen, with a focus on privately owned companies, pass-through entities and high-net-worth individuals and families.
He specialises in flow-through taxation, tax accounting methods, credits and structuring matters.
Smith previously served as the national managing partner for the Transportation and Logistics practice at Grant Thornton in the US.
Andersen said that his background will support the company’s work with clients in the transportation, logistics and manufacturing sectors.

Previously, Wood served as the national managing principal for Grant Thornton’s combined International Tax Services and Transfer Pricing practice and was a member of Grant Thornton International’s Global Transfer Pricing leadership team.
