Abacus Worldwide, LLC capped off its 10th anniversary year at its 2022 Annual General Meeting in Orlando, celebrating with delegates from 23 countries and fireworks at Epcot Center despite the arrival of Hurricane Nicole.
The international association of independent accounting, consulting and legal firms held its first AGM in Miami Beach in 2013 and has grown from 20 members at that time to 106 today. More than 50 delegates gathered in Orlando for the AGM, representing 40 firms from every region of the world, including new members from Texas, London and Hong Kong.
Abacus Worldwide president and CEO, Julio Gabay, said: “It was great to be back together in person again and see so much of our membership represented. Our organization has always been about building relationships as the cornerstone for doing business. The joy and energy in the room was so apparent as delegates got to see old friends and meet new members.”
Abacus officially turned 10 on its incorporation day of August 20. It expanded to cover all regions of the globe by 2014, hit 50 member firms by 2016, and held its first regional meetings in 2017. Abacus was named the Rising Star Association by the International Accounting Bulletin in 2018. It launched the Vantage Worldwide podcast in 2020 to discuss business issues in member countries and merged with JHI International later that year, taking a spot among the top 15 global associations.
