Abacai will become part of AAB’s Office of the CFO team. It will provide support in operational finance, technical accounting, deal activity, and finance transformation.

The firm has worked with entrepreneurial businesses through outsourced finance teams, accounting services, and financial reporting. Its AI-first processes are intended to improve the speed, accuracy, and availability of financial information.

AAB said the acquisition will increase its capacity to support owner-managed and high-growth businesses, while allowing the group to share expertise, technology, and operating practices.

AAB Office of the CFO head Lauren McCluskey said: “Abacai has built an impressive reputation for helping growing businesses gain greater clarity, control and confidence in their finances.

“The team has developed a genuinely advanced approach to outsourced finance, combining talented people, strong processes and smart use of AI and technology to deliver an exceptional client experience.”

The deal also places Abacai in the same group as RORA, which joined AAB in February 2026 and was rebranded as AAB earlier this week.

Abacai co-founder Bepi Jones said: “We undertook a thorough process and spoke with a number of potential partners. AAB stood out because of its vision for the future of the profession, its approach to innovation and its understanding of what we’ve built at Abacai.

“Joining AAB gives us the opportunity to bring the benefits we deliver today to a much larger client base, supported by the scale, investment and expertise of a growing professional services firm.” AAB said the acquisition forms part of its ongoing growth strategy.
