PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Australia has launched Cyber Managed Services, an AI-enabled cybersecurity service offering round-the-clock monitoring, threat detection and incident response through a subscription model.

The move forms part of PwC’s effort to develop services for the AI era, as it expands beyond advising to help clients manage critical business functions using agentic technologies.

Aimed at private and mid-market businesses, especially those operating in tightly regulated industries, Cyber Managed Services brings together Google SecOps technology, PwC’s global threat intelligence and AI-based investigation agents.

The service is intended to detect, examine and respond to cyber threats at any time.

Cyber Managed Services is designed to give organisations access to enterprise-level cybersecurity operations through an ongoing managed-service arrangement.

When the system identifies potentially suspicious activity, AI agents collect information from cloud, identity, application and endpoint environments to help determine whether the activity constitutes a real threat.

PwC cyber specialists review the resulting information, decide on the required response, and retain responsibility for decisions and outcomes.

PwC Australia managed services leader Michael Cerny said: “AI significantly improves the speed and scale at which cyber threats can be investigated, allowing our specialists to focus on judgement, response and risk management.

“Automating routine investigative work gives analysts more time to focus on the threats that matter most. In one client environment, investigation time fell from about 20 minutes to 60 seconds.

“In another, the client was able to analyse twice as much security data for half the cost, which allowed them to reinvest further in better coverage.”

The service is governed by PwC Australia’s Responsible AI, security and data-protection standards.

Cyber Managed Services is offered through a fixed-fee subscription arrangement. It is the second offering in PwC Australia’s growing agentic managed services portfolio, following the launch of Finance Managed Services.
