LaRue, a member of KPMG’s management committee, will lead the company’s talent and culture strategies in his new role.

This includes oversight of all human resources activities.

His responsibilities will cover workforce planning and deployment, total rewards, recruitment, talent management and learning, among other areas.

LaRue previously served as national managing partner of Talent & Culture at KPMG.

He has been with the company for 20 years.

“Over the course of his 20 years with the firm, he has played a pivotal role in advancing talent and culture initiatives that strengthen the organisation and fuel client success,” a statement from the company said.

Outside of KPMG, LaRue serves on the board of Blessings in a Backpack. He is also an advisory board member for Fairfield University’s John Charles Meditz College of Arts and Sciences.

In a LinkedIn post, KPMG US chair and CEO Tim Walsh said: “Jason brings unrivalled knowledge, perspective and the forward-looking vision needed to accelerate our talent transformation.

“Over more than 20 years with KPMG, he has developed a deep understanding of our business, our people and the role Talent & Culture plays in helping both succeed.

“His expertise and strategic vision, paired with an appetite for change, meet the moment while also honouring our culture.”

Walsh also thanked Torchia for her “outstanding leadership” and nearly 30 years of service at the company.

In June this year, KPMG acquired a minority equity stake in Incentify, a US tax credit and incentives technology company.
