The company provides partner-led advice to a wide mix of clients, from private individuals to companies with a turnover of more than £60m ($80.7m).
Its services cover statutory accounts and audit, corporate and personal tax planning, VAT, payroll and support for business start-ups.
Following the acquisition, Bolton and his team will remain in place and continue to operate from the Cobham office.
Bolton said: “We have been in Cobham for over 45 years. We know our clients well, and they know us. Joining bk plus was the right move, and we took our time to be sure of that before committing.
“Our clients will notice very little difference in how we work. Same people, same approach, same level of service. What they will have access to is a broader range of specialist support when they need it.
“Corporate finance, restructuring, complex tax planning, it is all there if a client needs it. That is a better position to be in than before, and that is good for the people we work with.”
bk plus said the deal strengthens its growing presence in the South East and is in line with its focus on acquiring established, locally rooted operators.
bk plus CEO Shaun Knight said: “Riches and Co. is exactly the kind of firm we look for. They have been doing this for over 45 years, they have a client base that spans a genuinely impressive range, and they have done it all while maintaining the kind of personal, partner-led service that clients actually value.
“Surrey and the wider South East remain important markets for us, and adding a practice of this calibre in Cobham strengthens our position there considerably. We are delighted to welcome Richard and the team.”
bk plus said it intends to continue building its national footprint. The company now has more than 58 offices and in excess of 1,000 staff across the UK, providing support to small and medium-sized enterprises and owner-managed businesses.
Earlier this month, bk plus appointed Peter Herberts as director of its restructuring and insolvency practice.
