Lubbock Fine, a chartered accountancy practice based in the UK, has launched an early careers initiative designed to widen access to the accountancy profession for young people from disadvantaged and under-represented backgrounds.
According to a statement, the company is using its summer work experience scheme to offer six placements at its St Paul’s office in the City of London.

Students taking part will spend time shadowing staff, attending meetings and observing a broad mix of day‑to‑day work across the practice.
Lubbock Fine is running the programme in partnership with charity Behind Every Kick, which aims to “level the playing field” for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds by using sport to build transferable skills.
Under the arrangement, Behind Every Kick will nominate one student for the scheme, with Lubbock Fine allocating the remaining five places.
Lubbock Fine head of people Karen Foot said: “Work experience is an invaluable tool to inspire and guide young people.
“Our early careers initiative is driven by the view that meaningful work experience can have a huge impact on a young person’s future.
“Our charity partner Behind Every Kick helps us to identify talented youngsters who may benefit from professional work experience. This helps to create opportunities for young people who may not otherwise have access to them.”
Lubbock Fine was established in 1929 and employs more than 180 people at its City of London headquarters.
The company is also a founding member of the Russell Bedford international accounting network, which has 370 offices in 110 countries.
Commenting on the initiative, Lubbock Fine chief operating officer Rob Morley said: “Graduates and trainees are a vital part of our firm, and our work experience programme helps us identify talented young people with the potential to build successful careers in professional services.
“One of the most rewarding aspects of the programme is seeing former work experience students return to join us as graduates.
“It demonstrates the value of giving young people an early insight into professional services and reinforces why we are committed to investing in opportunities that can shape career paths.”
