The companies also agreed to a multi-year partnership to develop and implement AI-driven audit solutions.

Tellen’s platform supports audit, quality management, testing, research and financial reporting workflows.

As part of the arrangement, Tellen’s engineering team will work with Citrin Cooperman’s professionals to design and roll out the platform for audit and assurance use.

Tellen CEO Deepak Lalit said: “We are proud to deepen our relationship with Citrin Cooperman as both a strategic investor and innovation collaborator.

“Citrin Cooperman’s licensed CPA [certified public accountant] firm has been deeply engaged in helping us refine how AI can be applied within real assurance environments.

“Together, we are developing AI-native workflows designed to elevate assurance quality, improve operational efficiency and modernise how firms deliver assurance services.”

Citrin Cooperman provides accounting, tax and advisory services to private, middle-market businesses and high-net-worth individuals.

It operates as an independent member practice of the Moore North America Association, which is itself a member of accountancy and advisory network Moore Global Network.

Citrin Cooperman said it has more than doubled in size in recent years, driven by organic expansion and acquisitions, and is now making “significant investments” to support growth and transformation initiatives.

It added that the Tellen investment extends an existing collaboration and aligns with Citrin Cooperman & Company’s plan to embed AI into core audit and quality management processes.

Citrin Cooperman Advisors CEO Alan Badey said: “This investment reflects our belief that AI will fundamentally reshape the accounting profession.

“We see an opportunity to support the continued evolution of assurance capabilities through technology, under the governance and standards of licensed CPA firms.

“Tellen’s platform aligns closely with that vision and we are excited to help accelerate the next generation of AI-enabled audit workflows.”
