BDO USA has launched BDO Government Services, a new subsidiary dedicated to supporting state and local governments across the continental US and Puerto Rico.
This follows the integration of HORNE in November, which allowed BDO USA to broaden its government services operations and expertise.

In September, BDO USA announced its plan to add more than 1,300 employees from HORNE, including 30 principals.
The combination is said to have strengthened BDO USA’s government services offering by incorporating HORNE’s extensive experience in disaster recovery and federal programme compliance.
Over the past 15 years, HORNE has managed more than $126bn in state and federal funding.
BDO Government Services provides expertise in programme design, administration, compliance management, funding coordination and technology solutions for government clients.

By GlobalDataIt will particularly address disaster recovery, energy resilience, healthcare access and infrastructure projects for its public sector customers.
With the completed integration of HORNE, BDO USA’s combined workforce now includes more than 700 professionals focused on public sector assignments.
These teams have experience in handling CDBG-DR funds, implementing housing, infrastructure and economic development projects, and assisting local governments through FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Programmes and Public Assistance.
The new subsidiary aims to work as an advisor for government leaders and plans to offer tailored solutions based on current needs within disaster recovery and federally funded initiatives.
Neil Forbes, who served as managing partner at HORNE, has been appointed as national practice leader for BDO Government Services.
