The legal services board (LSB) has backed the ICAEW application to become a regulator and licensing authority for five reserved legal activities.

LSB recommended to the Lord Chancellor’s to approve the application which if it goes through would mean that ICAEW firms will be allowed to offer five reserved legal services as an alternative to traditional providers.

The five services under consideration are:

·         Rights of audience

·         Conduct of litigation

·         Reserved instrument activities
