Under the terms of the deal, CMJ co-founders Paul A. Curtis and William A. Jeffreys will join UHY as partners.

The rest of the CMJ team will also become part of UHY.

Curtis and Jeffreys said: “Joining UHY increases the resources available to our clients and enhances our ability to deliver impactful, personalised guidance.

“UHY’s client-first approach and commitment to excellence closely align with our values at CMJ.

“Together, we are well positioned to broaden our services, grow across Upstate New York and help clients navigate their most pressing challenges.”

The deal deepens UHY’s reach in New York State and brings CMJ’s specialist focus in construction and financial services into UHY’s national platform.

UHY CEO Steven McCarty said: “Strategic expansion with respected firms like CMJ is central to UHY’s national growth strategy.

“By combining CMJ’s trusted local expertise with UHY’s national platform, specialised capabilities and advanced technology, we are unlocking new opportunities for growth while continuing to provide exceptional client outcomes.”

Earlier this month, UK-based accounting and advisory practice Affinia agreed to merge with three offices of UHY Hacker Young.
