Wbg, a Scottish accounting firm, has announced the appointment of Garry Clarke as its chief financial officer (CFO).
Clarke, who previously held the position of finance director and COO at Localist, will focus on implementing the firm’s growth objectives.

He will replace Yvonne Kemp, who will now assist Wbg shareholders N4 Partners with various investment initiatives.
This change in leadership comes shortly after the firm appointed Benny Higgins, the former head of Tesco Bank, as its chairman.
Wbg CEO Allan Dowie said: “We’re delighted that Garry is coming to join us.
“His appointment further strengthens the management team; his wealth of experience and expertise across private equity and service businesses will prove invaluable to helping the firm realise its growth targets over the years ahead.”

By GlobalDataAs a chartered accountant, Clarke has held several senior financial positions within the corporate sector in Scotland, including roles as financial controller at Hewden, finance director at Clyde Union SPX, and group financial controller at Clyde Blowers Capital.
Clarke said: “I’m very pleased to join with Allan and the rest of the team at Wbg to play a part in bringing to fruition their bold plans for expansion.
“Having been impressed by the pace of transformation that Wbg has undergone over recent years, I’m greatly looking forward to drive that transformation further to realise its objective of growing its fee income to £30m in three years and £50m in five years to achieve a ranking in the top 30 UK full-service professional services firms.”
Wbg operates with a workforce of 190 across six offices, achieving a fee income of £14m and catering to more than 10,000 clients, with a majority based in Scotland and the remainder throughout the UK.
