The UK Competition Commission (CC), currently investigating concentration in the statutory audit market, has pushed back the publishing of its preliminary findings report to January 2013.

The deadline for all party responses and submissions required before it can release provisional findings has also been extended to the end of November.

The CC was supposed to publish the preliminary report as well as, potentially, a list of recommended actions based on its findings, in November. According to the new timetable, a final report by the watchdog is expected in August 2013, two months prior to the statutory deadline.

The CC launched its investigation in 2011 following a recommendation by the UK Office of Fair Trading.
