KPMG LLP, the US member company of KPMG International, has named David Fine as the national managing principal for legal and regulatory.
Fine’s role will involve a collaborative effort with Matt Miner, the firm’s general counsel and vice chair of legal, risk management and compliance, to manage and navigate the firm’s legal and regulatory engagements and to liaise with the firm’s Management Committee.

Fine’s association with KPMG began almost six years ago when he assumed the role of deputy general counsel for litigation and regulatory investigations.
His progression within the firm saw him take on the responsibilities of special counsel to the general counsel and vice chair, following a period as interim general counsel and principal-in-charge of legal, regulatory & compliance.
Prior to his tenure at KPMG, Fine’s legal career was marked by his partnership at King & Spalding LLP and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where he honed his skills in complex litigation and regulatory issues, representing notable accounting firms in judicial and regulatory arenas.
His earlier experiences include his work as an associate at Arnold & Porter LLP and as a judicial law clerk for Judge Richard Nygaard of the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
