The Asia Pacific Board of KPMG has elected Martin Sheppard as the incoming chairman, effective from 1 October 2025.  

Sheppard will serve as KPMG Asia Pacific chairman, taking over from Honson To, who has held the position for eight years and concurrently served as chairman of KPMG China since 2015.

Sheppard, who has been the chairman of KPMG Australia since September 2023, will retain his current role. 

Sheppard said: “As a member of KPMG’s Global Board and Executive Committee, Honson has helped ensure ASPAC’s voice was well represented on the global stage, laying a solid foundation for continued growth for the region. 
 
“Honson leaves the ASPAC region in an incredibly strong position, and we owe him our deep appreciation for everything he has done for KPMG.” 

Honson To’s tenure as chairman of KPMG Asia Pacific has been marked by his contribution to the development and integration of the firm’s regional strategy.  

He has played a pivotal role in enhancing growth across borders and has been an advocate for the professional development of more than 50,000 KPMG employees in the region.

To’s term as chairman of KPMG China will also conclude at the end of September 2025.

Earlier in September 2025, KPMG LLP, the US member firm of KPMG International, named David Fine as the national managing principal for legal and regulatory. Fine will work closely with Matt Miner, the firm’s general counsel and vice chair of legal, risk management and compliance.
